Statement Sleeves

August 30, 2017

We’ve had a few days on the cooler side in Boston, so I’ve started transitioning my closet over to fall clothes a little sooner than I normally would. (Watch, we’ll have a heat wave in September!)

One of my favorite trends that is eeeeverywhere lately is the ruffle sleeve/statement sleeve. Now, I love a good trend but I also don’t want to look like I stepped out of the page of a fashion magazine – that’s just not me! So I paired my cozy statement sleeve top with maternity jeans and comfy slides. This top is not maternity, but it’s long enough that you can wear it with a third trimester belly and it doesn’t look like a crop top! I’m planning to wear it well into the fall and winter.

Can we talk about these jeans (c/o) for a second? For the longest time I was against maternity jeans because I thought they were going to be frumpy. When I finally had to make the switch over, I tried brand after brand and felt kind of “meh” about all of the ones I had purchased. And then these arrived on my doorstep! It must be in the way the panel is built because these jeans are so comfortable. They fit me perfectly (I went up a size from my normal jeans size), and the way the panel is built makes it so you can either pull it all the way up for more coverage/support or you can fold it down halfway so it isn’t a full panel.
