Red Rock Canyon

September 14, 2014

I promise to share details from our wedding soon, but today I’m sharing some snapshots from our honeymoon. I still have honeymoon brain and can’t even fathom how I’m going to feel Monday morning (#allofthecaffeine).

Because we travel so much, we decided to be a little nonconventional with our honeymoon, spending a week in Las Vegas and then a week at Disney World. It was a blast, even if I feel like I need another vacation to recover.

Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas nature, desert

While I’m used to the New England summertime humidity, I wasn’t prepared for the feeling of >100 degrees plus a hot breeze. (Seriously, it felt like a hot blow dryer on my face… Not exactly refreshing.)

So what do you wear to try to look cute on a day that is 110 degrees and you’re in the desert? Well friends, something light. I went with a simple tank, an asymmetrical sweatskirt (now $17!), and casual New Balance sneakers that are cute but also functional when you have to trek down a steep decline to take pictures on some red rocks.

We spent a day at Red Rock Canyon to get out of the city, and it was just gorgeous. The next day we ventured out to Valley of Fire, which was even more beautiful. I highly recommend renting a car and getting out there if you’re in the Las Vegas area!
