Running Goals

March 27, 2015

#FitToPlay #CollectiveBias

When’s the last time you really felt fit? After the long Winter months in Boston (and they were long), I’ve finally been getting outside and back to jogging. I have two 5K races coming up on back-to-back weekends, so I’m happy I can run outside again! (Even though I beat my personal best back in October, that’s going to be a continuing goal for me.)

While the snow on the ground was a real reason for me to say I couldn’t jog, I don’t have any excuses now. My gear is ready to go, and I picked up the Playtex® Sport® Combo pack, which is a nice, neat little box of lady-things, ready to go into my gym bag so I have zero excuses to skip a workout.

I’m convinced that cute running clothes make you faster. I wish I had discovered this in high school when the mile workouts were on our training schedule, because I could get through a 3 minute cheerleading routine, hoisting friends into the air, yet one mile made me want to curl up on the ground.

Boston
Now, let me tell you about the coolest thing I’ve (probably) ever done. Last year I took part in One Run for Boston, a cross-country relay that started in Los Angeles and made its way to Boston. I ran the last 4 mile leg to the Boston Marathon finish line, where I met up with my sister, our family, and a lot of newer friends who are more like family. It was an incredible event, and having an entire lane across a bridge for ourselves was awesome. Running behind the American flags was awesome. And having the support of so many people behind us was… yep, awesome.
One Run for Boston
I don’t think I’ll ever have an experience quite like it, but it’s something I will remember forever! That 4 miles was the farthest I had ever run. The adrenaline was incredible, and it made me want to be a runner. So now, with my fun neon running clothes and the ultimate protection against ruining said fun neon running clothes, I’m off to do my daily jog!
P.S. This is where I found the Playtex Sport Combo at Walmart- on the end of one of the aisles. Are you a runner? Leave me your tips for gaining distance if you are – I’d love to hear them!

Playtex Sport
NEW! Playtex® Sport® now available in Pads, Liners and Combo Packs at Walmart! Now Sport Level Protection™ pads, liners and combo packs with Flexfit™ design to twist and turn with your body. Don’t let your period get in the way. PlayOn!

I'm glad you are able to get back to your running. I've never been much of a runner, but when I do exercise and stay active, I need something good to protect me from little mishaps! #client

I like interval training. Run, sprint, walk in alternating fashion for a predetermined time. It helps build endurance and confidence and you work out harder when you have small breaks built in.
