Declutter Check-In

May 11, 2015

Starting a declutter challenge during finals week was probably not the best idea I’ve ever had, but I feel like I accomplished quite a bit this weekend. It’s incredible how much stuff I’ve accumulated since we bought a house: Just that extra space means I can hide things away and forget about them. (I actually found a pair of shoes today that I had purchased and completely forgotten about… bad.)

As much as I want to hang onto stuff that I don’t need, I keep asking myself, “If we were packing to move today, would I keep this?” and that is helping me purge what I don’t really need.

(P.S. I’m working on cleaning out my closet, and I’ll be putting some things up for sale on Poshmark.)

Here’s to doing more with less! Have any organization tips? I’d love to hear them!

You go girl! I know I definitely have some things in my closet I need to part with (especially winter clothes… need to remind myself every so often that I live in San Diego now!) Nadine over at East& used to phrase "hiding your junk in plain sight" — using a cute basket (like the ones in your photo) to organize your things. Working on implementing that one!
