With all of the spring trends filling my shopping carts lately, I thought I’d share my favorites that I plan to wear well into the summer.
There’s something about heading into the spring season that makes me want to get rid of everything gray and go straight toward white, pink, and colors!
I’ve been doing a lot of summer shopping lately, mostly because the weather in Boston has been less than perfect (I’m talking 45 and rainy every. single. day.) and I just cannot wait for those gorgeous sunny summer days. I started looking at summer clothes for our trip to Florida and now I can’t stop.
For summertime I always look for easy pieces that can be dressed up or down. (I seriously wore this dress at least once a week last summer!) When I saw this chambray dress, I knew it was going to be that piece – the thing I reach for constantly because it’s comfortable, it looks good, and it’s easy to wear – whether it’s with a pair of heels or sneakers, from brunch to a Sox game.
Three years ago I bought a chambray shirt thinking it would be around for a season and then I would never wear it again. Since then I’ve had to replace that shirt twice because I keep buying fast fashion brands. But like with bags and sunglasses and an LBD, if you know you’re going to wear it a lot, why not invest in a nicer piece?
This dress is made by Brass, a Boston-based company started by two ladies who were looking for an alternative to designer goods and fast fashion. Their brand is made up of versatile pieces every capsule wardrobe (or any wardrobe, for that matter) should have.
Chambray, button-down, and pockets? Perfect.
What piece do you know will be your go-to for this summer?

We have more snow in the forecast for this week, but I’m refusing to believe we’re going backwards into the winter. Instead, I’m looking toward the springtime and summer months. (Wishful thinking that it’s going to be warm soon? Maybe!) I’m filling my closet with items that are much more spring-friendly: floral prints, stripes (obviously), brighter colors, and lighter neutrals. I’m trying hard to move away from the darker colors I gravitated to over the winter months – seriously, my closet was so full of black and navy that I need to take a hiatus from those colors for a little while.
Here are some items in my shopping cart – the white off the shoulder shirt – which has been in my cart since this post – keeps going out of stock and coming back in my size, so it’s fate, right? 😉 [FYI if you click the little plus sign that shows up when you hover over the image, it will take you right to that item.]

What’s on your wish list for the spring?
We have a promise of nice weather this week (weathermen, I’m looking at you), so I’m already thinking about shifting my closet from sweaters and boots to dresses and sandals. Summer is so fleeting in New England – we seriously have 3 “real summer” months and then we’re back in a land of jeans and flats – that it’s super exciting when it’s time for the warmer weather to come out. These are five of the things on my wish list right now:
off the shoulder blouse (just bought this off the shoulder cover up dress!), a colorful bracelet stack, the new one piece (I saw this one in a little shop in Miami and wish I had bought it then – it’s almost sold out online!), tassel everything, and these jeans
